Statement #1:
The relationship between humans and nature is something forgotten. What people lose sight of is that we have come from nature, it is integrated in us, and we will leave still a part of nature. The use of technology has succumbed our lives, focusing only on things we have created ourselves, and not what we were created from. We need a balance. I tried to present my statement in artwork that is a mixture of photography and paint. I've taken human figures and put them in with nature, or vice versa.

Statement #2:
My concentration starts with the integration of humans and nature in a more subtle way (#1, #2), only hinting at the fact that there is a small connection. I didn't want it to be too noticeable because it represents how when you don't look that much, you only slightly notice the relationships we hold with nature. As my concentration progresses more, I chose to draw aesthetic parallel between the shapes on humans and those found in nature, or vice versa, like a human skull that is almost like a bulb from a flower (#3) or vines in a mouth that look almost like braces (#4). I wanted to try and push the differences more, while still keeping them connected in a way. As my concentration progressed, I wanted to experiment and explore the differences, while still keeping them connected in a coherent matter. In pieces #7 and #8, the nature is completely obvious that it's there, but you still see where it can be constructed from human influences. I made the contrast more obvious as I moved through my concentration because as you start to pay more attention in life, it also becomes more obvious how nature and humans are connected. With Concentration #10, I have a picture of a boy in a tree, with paint on top, to completely combine it all. Finally showing us in nature.

Zines

The whole theme is about a teenage girl's life. She fights with her mother, though she is a main person in her life, she compares the pros and cons of being good and having fun, she struggles feeling alone with only herself, there are parts of being a girl that can suck but it's a part of them and they have to make it beautiful, trying to cover that up they put on a fake face but you know you have to judge them by what's under it, they have their caring nature, and though there are many elements in their life, they have focus.
